Counselor

Michele McConkie Erekson, LCMHC

I came to counseling later in life, after raising five children.  My experience “in the trenches” has helped me immeasurably in my professional practice.  I respect and admire my clients. It takes courage to make the first call and admit “I can’t do this alone.” To look at ourselves and the things in our lives that aren’t working, and then to change those things, takes strength and tenacity.

Testimonials

I’ve told my parents and my boyfriend about how great Michele has made me feel. I think anyone that gets a chance to talk to Michele would not be disappointed. . . . I feel like I have someone standing in my corner, someone on my side cheering me on, that I can do this. . . and things will get better, that I will get better.

When I entered an Addiction Recovery Program I also sought counseling from Michele Erekson. Michele helped me move from multi-decade addict, into recovery, through recovery, and into life as a changed person. Without the effective counseling provided by Michele, I’m certain my recovery would have been short and subsequently my marriage lost. I highly recommend her to anyone dealing with pornography addiction.

We highly recommend Michele Erekson. She respected and understood our faith. She brought a spiritual approach combined with proven research to help us to see things clearly and promote healing. Michele extended compassion, gave . . . specific, practical tools [to] take home and implement and most importantly calmed fears and provided hope and confidence . . . . Her gift is in conveying that each setback can be turned into an opportunity for meaningful conversations and working on methods that lead to growth and progress.

Everyone feels anxious sometimes, but when feelings of nervousness and fear intrude and interfere with life, it’s time to get some help.

We experience loss around many different circumstances and events in our life: loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of financial security, loss of hopes and expectations, loss of confidence.  All of these and other changing circumstances can bring grief and pain. Through a broad range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, we create a safe place to work through feelings, thoughts and behaviors that come with anxiety, depression and, often, addiction.  You don’t have to go through this alone.
